I Hunting Taxidermy Award

Etymologically, the word taxidermy comes from the Greek, taxisa, which means placement or arrangement, and dermis, which means skin. Therefore, it is defined as the art of dissecting animals to preserve them and maintain their appearance of being alive, thus facilitating their study and, above all, conservation.

The art of naturalizing our hunting trophies is increasingly valued by the group of hunters and fishermen. Taxidermists who are aware of this have worked hard over the last few years to develop their skills to the maximum, resulting in a very competitive market in Spain in which each taxidermy tries to offer us the best service, both in the preparation of the trophy and in the collection and delivery to the home.

At the next edition of Cinegética, which will take place from March 21 to 24, in pavilion 12 of Ifema, we will have the already traditional Museum of Wild Fauna of the Dr. Romero Nieto Foundation. For this occasion, we can advance that it will offer us a collection of the smallest of our cervids: the roe deer. We will also have an exhibition of all the wild boars in the world, hunted by Dr. Gómez Sequeira. These monographs will surely be to the liking of all visitors.

As a novelty, the 1st Taxidermy Hunting Award will be awarded, which will be decided by the same jury as the already emblematic Hunting Awards, reinforced by an artist and a taxidermist.

To submit applications, it is essential to present a naturalization carried out by the taxidermist who, during the four days of Cinegética, will be exhibited for the delight of all visitors.

We hope that taxidermy will be one of the great attractions at Cinegética 2019 once again and that we can all enjoy it together.
