The Ricardo Medem Award Returns: 25 Candidates, Four Finalists and One Winner
Cinegética+SCI 2027 reopens entries for one of the leading international recognitions of excellence in big game hunting
Cinegética+SCI is once again celebrating excellence, tradition and passion for big game hunting with a new edition of the Ricardo Medem Award, an international recognition that annually honours an exceptional trophy for its uniqueness, the difficulty of the hunt and its quality within its species.
The Award, organised by Cinegética+SCI and sponsored by the Bergara Foundation, was created to recognise not only an outstanding trophy, but also the story behind it: the challenge, knowledge, experience and respect for nature that make an exceptional hunt possible.
Because behind every great trophy there is much more than a measurement: there is a story.
25 Candidates. 4 Finalists. 1 Winner.
The Award retains one of its defining features.
From all entries received, 25 exceptional trophies will be selected to compete for the Award. From these, the international jury will select 20 qualifiers, four finalists, and ultimately one winner of the Ricardo Medem Award.
The winner will receive the iconic bronze sculpture created by renowned Spanish artist Chiqui Díaz, conceived as a symbol of excellence, tradition and respect for the hunting heritage.
In addition, all selected candidates will receive a commemorative trophy in recognition of their participation in the Award.
Much More Than a Trophy
The Ricardo Medem Award seeks to honour a way of understanding hunting based on knowledge, effort, ethics and respect for nature.
Each entry represents a different hunting story. A story of pursuit, patience, challenge and passion for wildlife.
For this reason, the Award is not simply looking for the biggest trophy, but for the trophy that brings together all the elements that make a hunt truly exceptional.
The Trophies Take Centre Stage at Cinegética+SCI 2027
The finalist trophies and their stories will have a prominent place at the next edition of Cinegética+SCI, which will take place from March 11 to 14, 2027, at IFEMA Madrid, Hall 14.
The Ricardo Medem Award ceremony will take place during the traditional Cinegética+SCI Gala Dinner, one of the most special moments of the fair and a meeting point for professionals, hunters and leading figures from the international hunting community.
